Quad-core CPU specification enters the entry level category with Celkon Q405 Android phone

Celkon Q405 is a quad-core Android phone for just Rs.3199 ($50)
Barely 3 years ago, a quad-core mobile processor was considered a premium, high-end specification found in Android flagships only. But not anymore, now you can get a quad-core Android phone for as low as $50 thanks to the cut-throat competition and dominance of local phone makers in low-mid range segment. Celkon Q405 is an entry level Android phone available in India for just Rs.3199. Celkon Q405 boasts of a quad-core processor, though the CPU brand is not specified by the manufacturer, it is (most probably) a low-end MediaTek one. Nevertheless you are getting a quad-core droid for the price of a feature phone. Being an entry level phone do not expect too much from Celkon Q405, but overall it’s a complete package with nothing left out. Here is the specs sheet –

Other options
InFocus M2 is a far better phone than Celkon Q405 at a little higher cost. For Rs.1800 more (Rs.4999) you will get 1GB RAM, a brilliant HD screen and a great 8MP camera with flash (front and rear both). So if you can extend your budget a bit more than do not think twice, go for InFocus M2
